DAY 1 – Winning Team Devotional

When Jesus called His disciples to follow Him, it was an invitation to be a part of the winning team.

Throughout His life here on Earth, Jesus spoke about God’s Kingdom and demonstrated what that Kingdom is like. It was the most amazing 3-year journey through all sorts of different experiences, yet Jesus brought people into the victory they desired every single time. Talk about a winning team! He then empowered the disciples to do the same - to talk about God’s Kingdom and demonstrate His Kingdom. This Kingdom is far superior than the kingdom of this world that we live in and it ‘wins’ every time!

To be a part of any winning team, one has to be committed, devoted, determined, teachable, dedicated, single-minded, sacrificial and have a faith that believes. It is no different being part of God’s winning team with the captain being Jesus. We have to be committed to God, to His Word and to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. In fact, playing our part on the winning team requires us to go even beyond commitment to the point of devotion, where we devote our whole lives to being a team player in order to see God’s Kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven. This involves our emotions and it stirs love in our hearts until love becomes the motivating factor. Being motivated by love enables us to be determined, to remain teachable and open, and to be willing to pay any price to see others join this winning team.

You are a winner and you are part of this incredible team. Be encouraged to live with that mindset and to give your all in seeing this world won to Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I am so thankful that you see me as a winner because of Your son and that You have chosen me to be a part of this winning team. Today, help me to commit myself and devote myself to You and Your call upon my life. Help me to think like a winner and have the passion to invite others to join this winning team known as Your Church.

I pray this in Jesus' Name,
