DAY 7 – Winning Team Devotional

In facing a real enemy, it is so encouraging knowing that we have such benefits in God.

We live in a world with many words. Everyone has an opinion, everyone has a different world view and there are many people out there that use their words and opinions to bully or tear down others.

This is what the enemy tries to use against us - words! However, when you are on the winning team you don’t need to be intimidated by the words of others that would criticise or judge or try and pull you down. Instead, you can listen to the words of Jesus when He says that you’re chosen, you’re adopted, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you and so on.

There are so many promises in the Word of God. His Word for us today is that no weapon turned or formed against us will succeed. We need to remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness and that He will vindicate us. That means He will clear us of any accusation because there is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus. That means the enemy can’t accuse us or use others to accuse us falsely.

Sometimes people have been seriously bullied by strangers online. They have allowed social media to have a strong influence on them. Some people rise and fall depending upon the opinions of others. This is where we need to understand that God is the One who will silence the voices. It might take a little time, but God will be your advocate, just like we read in John 16 (AMP)…'But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counsellor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. '

Thank you God that You are my advocate and the One who will stand by me and pull down every voice that would accuse me. I know that I can rest assured and be at peace because the enemy is defeated and I will always be on the winning team because of what Jesus has done. Help me to grow in this understanding, Lord and to find my security in You.
