Devotion
There are times in our walk with God that things can get tough. We can go through all sorts of traumas and situations that we really can’t explain. It can be the enemy attacking us and it can be from the silly decisions that we can sometimes make. But whatever the reason these situations can rob us of our joy, of our faith and of the life that is ours in Christ. Have you ever woken up and felt sad and heavy for no reason? Have you found it hard to read God’s word, to worship? Have you struggled to feel like doing anything? These are those times where we feel dry.
I love the book of Psalms because it so aptly articulates where we can be at any point of our lives. We can go through the highs of life where everything is going right and then we can suffer the lows, where nothing seems to be going right. In this particular Psalm, I am encouraged by what the psalmist encourages us to do to see the deliverance of The Lord.
Firstly, if we give thanks, if we speak out the good things that God has done for us and if you cry out for God’s help then He will come through! He will answer and He will satisfy!
When you feel dry then simply lift a prayer to The Lord and ask for His help. I have done this countless numbers of times in my life. I haven’t always felt like ministering to other people because of some struggles in my own life. However, whenever I have cried out for help Jesus has always met me. He will meet you today. He will refresh you right now! Has the Lord been good to you? Then tell someone and cry out to Him to help you right now! Only He can satisfy!
Scripture
Prayer
Dear Lord, I cry out to you today for your help! I thank you that in the past you have always helped me. Your presence has surrounded me, your joy has lifted me and your hand has always lifted me up out of the struggles that I face. I thank you that you have promised me that you will always be with me. Today I receive your strength again and I thank you that you are going to make a way even if there seems to be no way out of the situation I am in. You are a miracle-working God and I look to you for help.
Thank you, Jesus!
Amen.
