Devotion

We have been created for intimate relationship with Jesus Christ ,and relationship is always about communication. God wants to communicate to you. This is why Jesus is called "the Word" in scripture. When you hear from God (when He speaks to you), that’s what gives you great faith to believe what He has said. In fact, the Bible says that just like food sustains your body, it is God's word that sustains your spiritual life. God is always speaking in different ways, but, like a radio frequency, we need to develop our receptors to tune into what He is saying. You were designed and formed in such a way that every part of you can sense and receive from God. Today, I want to encourage you to take some time to stop and listen to what God is saying and to tune in those receptors to hear. Sometimes we believe that God doesn't want to speak to us or that we can't hear from Him, but the Bible tells us that if we are His sheep, we can hear His voice. There are so many ways that God wants to speak to you. Be ready to hear Him speak through His Word (the Bible), through the Holy Spirit (who is the Spirit of Truth) into your heart, through other people, through an image or dreams or vision, and in so many other ways!

Scripture

John 16:13 (NLT)
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
Jeremiah 33:1-3 (NLT)
While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the LORD gave him this second message: “This is what the LORD says—the LORD who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the LORD: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Proverbs 2:1-5 (NLT)
My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God.
