Divine Authority
2025 is the year of Divine Authority—a call for believers to live under, in, with, and out of God’s power. By submitting to Jesus' authority, embracing our identity in Christ, and exercising our delegated power, we walk in victory and fulfil our calling to impact the world. Let’s step boldly into this season of breakthrough, faith, and kingdom advancement.
As we step into 2025, we declare it as the Year of Divine Authority. This is a time for the Church to rise up, walk in the power of Christ, and take hold of the authority that God has given us. Divine authority is not just a concept—it is a reality that God calls us to live in daily. We are invited to submit to His authority, embrace our identity in Him, exercise our delegated power, and fulfil His calling on our lives.
To walk in divine authority, we must first live under it. Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). He is sovereign over all creation, over sickness, storms, demons, and every earthly power. When we recognise and submit to His rule, we walk in the security and power of His presence. To live under divine authority is to surrender to His Lordship, trust in His power, and align our lives with His Word.
As believers, we do not just live under authority; we live in it. The Bible tells us that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). This means we are not powerless—we are co-heirs with Christ, empowered to live victoriously. Our spiritual location has changed. We have been brought out of darkness and placed in the kingdom of God’s Son (Colossians 1:13). Understanding our identity in Christ enables us to walk with confidence, knowing that His authority is within us.
Not only do we live under and in divine authority, but we also carry it with us. Jesus has given us His authority to proclaim the Gospel, heal the sick, and overcome the works of the enemy (Luke 10:19). The Holy Spirit dwells within us, equipping us to pray with power, speak with boldness, and walk by faith. Divine authority is not just something we receive; it is something we actively exercise through prayer, worship, and responsiveness to Him.
Finally, divine authority is meant to be lived out. We are called to go into the world and make disciples, bringing the kingdom of God wherever we go (Matthew 28:19-20). This means we do not live in fear, but in faith. We speak life into hopeless situations, bring healing to the broken, and declare the victory of Jesus over every circumstance. Just as Paul and Silas praised God in prison and saw the chains break (Acts 16), we too can transform our surroundings through faith-filled action.
Let us step boldly into this year of Divine Authority. This is a season for the Church to rise up and walk in the power that Christ has given us. We are under His authority, living in His power, walking with His Spirit, and fulfilling His commission. Let’s claim this year as a year of breakthrough, victory, and kingdom advancement.
We thank You for calling us to live in Your divine authority. Help us to walk boldly in Your power, submit to Your will, and fulfil Your purpose. Let 2025 be a year of breakthrough and transformation as we step into all that You have for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
