DAY 11 – Saved | Planetshakers

Devotion

When we see our brokeness without God, we realise we need saving. We cannot save ourselves or fix the sin problem by our own effort or by just trying to be good. None of us are saved because we deserve it...we are saved by God's grace. A BIG reminder (make this the foundation of everything you believe)...God's plan for saving us is this: He sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to live a perfect life and to die for our sins. His blood was the payment for our debt of sin. He took what we deserved so that we could receive what He deserved. When we BELIEVE and put our faith in Jesus, we access what He won for us: God's grace. It's by God's grace & through your faith in Jesus that you are saved! Our sin once separated us from God, but Jesus' blood brought us back into connection with God! Everything separated from God dies, but everything with God has life! Now that you are saved, even though your body will die, you will live for eternity with God in Heaven! And here on earth, you have access to an unrestricted relationship with God! You are no longer lost and broken; that may have been your past, but it's not your eternal reality or your real identity. Jesus' blood has made you right with God! You are saved! Today, let this truth sink down even deeper and live out of this identity in everything you face!

Ephesians 2:1-10 (NLT)

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Romans 3:22-25 (NLT)

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past

John 3:16-18 (NLT)

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
