Devotion

‘All’. Small word. Means everything. Kinda like the word ‘God’. All is the perfect word to describe so much of God’s character. Where we live in a world of the finite, the fleeting, or the maxed out, God lives in the realm of the infinite. Consider these few things about God's "all-ness": 1) God is all-knowing (omniscient). He knows everything. Everything! There’s nothing He does not know. He knows how many hairs are on your head. He knows how many grains of sand are on every beach. He knows the names of every star in the universe. He knows the names of every Pokémon, even those weird new ones. He knows what you’re thinking, how you’re feeling, what you did today, and what you’re going to do tomorrow. He knows what’s been going on in your head, what’s been tugging on your heart and what’s been taking your attention. He knows exactly what you’re going through, and He knows how you can get through it. 2) God is all-powerful (omnipotent). He can do anything! He can heal the sick, raise the dead, draw water from a rock, cause a donkey to speak, make oceans part, make storms stop being so stormy, and make lepers stop being so leprosy-y. He could even make a burrito so hot that He himself could not eat it... and then He could eat it! Our minds cannot possibly understand everything that God is capable of doing, because He can do it all! And the best part is, He can do it all for you. He is more powerful than any enemy you might face, and, if that’s not enough, He’s so powerful that He has already won the victory over battles you haven’t even fought yet! 3) God is in all places (omnipresent). Imagine how good it would be to be able to teleport. You could be chilling on the beach, then next minute go snowboarding, or go to the NBA. Now imagine being able to do that ALL AT THE SAME TIME! God is everywhere! At the same exact time He can be in heaven, at grandma's house, and in your heart. There is nowhere He isn’t. You can’t out run Him. You can’t hide from Him. Anywhere you can be, He is already there. But not only is He everywhere...He is everyWHEN! He is simultaneously here with you today and setting up your breakthrough for tomorrow. He knows your beginning from your end, and He is with you every step of the way. God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and at all places and times. But there’s one more ‘all’. You. You are His ‘all’. So much so, that He sacrificed His omniscience, His omnipotence, and His omnipresence, came to earth, died on a cross...just to be able to have relationship with you. Wow. You are everything to Him. He gave His all, so you could be His all. And He loves you with all that He is. ‘All’. Small word. Means everything.

Scripture

Psalms 147:4-5 (NLT)
He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!
Job 42:1-2 (NLT)
Then Job replied to the LORD: “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you.
Psalms 139:1-12 (NLT)
O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.
Matthew 19:26 (NLT)
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
