Worship is one of the most powerful ways that I draw close and connect with God. From the perspective of someone who has faced many heartbreaking and traumatic situations, I testify today of the influence that worshipping Jesus has had in my life.
Through my previous struggles of isolation, insecurity, doubt, abandonment and much more, worship has been a way for me to give all my troubles to God and focus back on Him.
Worship has had a major impact on my life, it taught me to glorify God, despite all I am going through or facing. Worship always magnifies God and my problems become harmless and out-weighed by his gracious love. A sense of comfort, peace and reassurance flows throughout my mind as well as my heart. This is because when our hearts are open and ready to receive, the Holy Spirit does a work through us. For example, whether it is within a church environment or in my room at night, I choose to fully press in and focus on Jesus.
What does fully pressing into worship look like? It is purely putting your attention on God, thinking about nothing else, no problem, worry, stress, person, situation or those around you. Choosing to ignore every distraction that might come into your mind. Letting the glory and power of Who Jesus is fill your heart and imagination.
When I learned to open my heart up and invite God in, He instantly became my encourager, motivator & poured out such abundant love.
his greatness no one can fathom.
This truly changed my life. Holy spirit gave me a desire and hunger for more of his love and presence. It was simple as closing my eyes, lifting my hands and adjusting my focus onto Him. I have personally encountered Him, experiencing the revealing of dreams and visions and wisdom from the Holy Spirit. I also ask God to reveal anything he wants to speak to me about in my heart. Worship is so powerful and it’s how we magnify, honour, love & seek God’s presence.
Let’s all spend some time worshipping God today, drawing near to Him and putting our attention on Him.
