Devotion
There’s still so much we could say and read about the JC Squad… we could read in Revelation about how Jesus calls us His bride- something beautiful and full of glory that is going to be joined to Him forever! We could read in 2 Corinthians about how we are ambassadors (representatives) of God on earth, and we could talk about how the Church is like the embassy of heaven on earth.. Here to show the world the Kingdom of God and here to show the world what heaven is like. But the last thing we are going to focus on this week is.. that we, the JC Squad, are family. Family is forever... & God uses this example of a natural family to say that in the JC Squad, we are now family, and we are His children.
Families stick together, they support each other, they share their identity and their inheritance. They provide for each other and care for each other. They carry on the legacy of past generations and they fight for future generations. They are not perfect but they are bonded together by sharing the same name and the same blood. The family of the JC Squad is not perfect but we have been bonded together by the name that is higher than any other name- Jesus Christ and by the power of His blood that makes us one. This family is made up of millions of people all over the world right now and millions of people throughout all history that are now cheering you on as a “great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1) in heaven. Would you decide today to connect yourself to, bond yourself to and become part of the forever family of the JC Squad?

So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.

There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.
