Devotion
The bridge of the song “Love of My Life” has the lyrics “I don’t want anything else, Lord I’m hungry for You, You are the One that I want, Lord I’m longing for You”.
God loves when we are desperate for more of Him, as He cannot help but respond. When we are so desperately in love with Him, when He is truly the love of our life, He responds by revealing more of Himself to us.
In the Psalms we see a great example of a man who went after God’s own heart. David was so hungry for more of God that we read about how he endlessly cried out to God in every season of his life - the good, the bad, and everything in between. He cried out to God when he felt him near and could clearly hear His voice, but he also cried out to God when he didn’t feel like it and felt that God was far away.
Can you imagine calling out to God at the top of your lungs, “Be good to me! Answer me!”? Maybe this is something that you have done before. Maybe it was in anger and frustration, or maybe it was a plea and cry for help. Today, try crying out to Him from a different perspective - let your heart cry out as one that is deeply in love with its Saviour. Let the love of Jesus revolutionise the way you talk to Him.
