Devotion
This song is about chasing, yearning, and seeking the presence of God with everything that we are. The Bible talks about going into the “secret place”—a place for you and God where distractions have no place. This song speaks of positioning ourselves here, alone with Him.
As you spend time with God today, let all distraction fade away as you solely focus on Him. Forget about everything else you have to do, all the pressures of life, all of the pain you might be feeling, and take a moment to picture what it would be like to “dwell in the secret place of the Most High”.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, it can be so difficult to intentionally and purposefully pursue the undistracted presence of our Father, however, once you are there, you will realise that there is no better place to be - nothing compares! Better is one day spent with Him in His courts than a thousand elsewhere. In His presence is everything you need; fullness of joy, all surpassing peace, supernatural strength.
We can lean on Him, rely on Him, we can trust in Him! As we learn to yearn after and enjoy the intimate presence of God, we’ll see that His arms are strong enough to carry us; they will never fail. Let Him be your refuge and fortress today - run into the arms of the Father!
