DAY 3 – He is over pain

Devotion

No one likes pain. It can be debilitating. It can be exhausting. It can speak. Isn’t it amazing how pain actually has a voice? We naturally compensate and adjust to pain, but Jesus took that pain upon Himself when He died on the cross. We can look to Him, therefore, for the remedy of our pain. It could be pain in our hearts from someone hurting us, pain in our minds from some kind of torment or fear, or pain in our physical body. Some pain can even manifest itself in our body even though the actual source of that pain is some kind of emotional or mental trauma. Then there are the words that come from our pain: words of limitation, words of accusation or words of restraint and hopelessness. This is where we can either listen to our pain, or instead, listen to what God is saying. There are so many promises of God written in the pages of the Bible. These promises are for you to experience and not just read about. Jesus wants you to be free from pain. Today, if you are in pain, I want to encourage you to reach out again to your good God for a miracle. Whether it’s physical, emotional or mental pain, Jesus has overcome it all! Let Him heal you of all pain. Let’s pray together.

Prayer

Today, Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. You are over it all. You are over pain. I ask You to heal me of all my pain. I forgive (list the names)— they have hurt me, but today, I release them from any debt or any expectation that I may have that they could ever repay me for what they took from me. I know You have taken my pain so I can live free, so today, Jesus, would You please heal me. Heal me of the physical pain I am feeling due to sickness/injury. I receive Your healing power and I thank You that the pain is leaving me now in Jesus’ Name. I declare that You are over it all and I trust You for my breakthrough!

In Jesus name, I pray,
Amen.

Isaiah 53:4 (NIV)
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
Revelation 21:4 (NIV)
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
