Devotion

The last day is here, but really, it’s just the beginning. We’re going to finish this off by talking about how ‘passing it on’ is part of a life of victory.

There’s something about helping other people do or learn something that actually helps you get better at it too. When God’s love flows through you to other people, it changes you at the same time! Helping others is good for us! When we start living for others instead of living for ourselves, it’s proof that Jesus has changed our hearts.

Here’s the challenge for today:

    1. Find people you can share Jesus with. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and to give you the courage to tell people about Him. He will give you ideas of where to start!
    2. Find some way that you can serve in your church, youth or small group. This will help you grow so much and help you to walk in victory! It doesn’t matter how small it is, there’s something about serving that’s so good for your heart. It helps you act like Jesus and remember that it’s not about you anymore.
    3. Decide that you’re going to live a generous life! The Holy Spirit will give you ideas about how you can be generous with your time, your money, your actions and your life! God is so generous and the more we walk with Him, the more we start acting like Him!

God wants to lead you in victory, one step at a time and one day at a time, so keep going! Don’t slow down now. Go after God with everything you have!

Scripture

Mark 10:43-45
But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Acts 20:35
And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Romans 12:6-14
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.
