Scripture
Devotion
As I was meditating on this Scripture, God asked me to think about what is NOT said in this parable? What is not said is that God did not withhold seed to any of these circumstances – even if the seed that was not planted properly, even if it was eaten by the bird or even if it was choked by thorns, God still deposited seed.
This gave me great assurance and great hope that in whatever circumstances or seasons we are in, God is not in the business of withholding seed from us. In every one of these situations, God continues to sow seed and plant seed. That is my encouragement as you are reading this today.
Don’t believe the lie of the enemy that God is a God that withholds, Jesus says here in the parable that God plants and sows seed in every circumstance!
Our job is to make sure that the fertile soil, which is our heart, is ready to receive the seed that God is sowing in our lives. Whatever your situation may be, believe in faith that God is depositing good seed in your heart. He is depositing blessing, hope, faith and joy in your life because we serve a good God. As it says in Matthew 7:11 (NLT) “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
Prayer
God, thank You that I have the opportunity to come to You as the giver of purpose, Lord, You're the only one that knows the plans for my life, so today, I ask God that You would show me Your purpose for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
