Scripture

James 1:2-3 (NLT)
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
Romans 5:3-5 (NLT)
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Devotion

We are currently facing so many trials and tribulations in this day but we can count it all joy as we serve a faithful God. His promise is that He will never leave us or forsake us! He is with us in every season that we go through, even in this season that we are going through now. We are not alone.

Trials and tribulations are an opportunity for us to develop endurance. Endurance is the capacity for something to last and withstand wear and tear. Let me give you an example of a vehicle; the vehicle is not allowed on the road until it has been thoroughly tested that it can endure all types of conditions. We should count it all joy that God is trusting us and giving us the joy that increases that endurance.

One thing we need to note is that joy is the key ingredient in understanding what endurance is. Blessings bring more tests in our lives and tests brings more blessings in our lives. There is no testimony without a test. There is no breakthrough without turbulence. There is no growth without stretching. So rejoice that you are not alone right now in whatever season you are in, rejoice that God has you. Let the oil joy flow in your home, over your family, and know that as a church we are all standing behind you and more importantly, God has you right now.

Prayer

Father, we thank You for Your joy, The Word says that Your joy is our strength and we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your joy in our lives in this season more than anything else. We know that whatever trials we may be facing and whatever test we are going through, You are always with us. Your Word says that You will never leave us or forsake us so we hold on to Your promise. We give You all the glory and honour. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.
