God’s plans for you are so great that they go beyond your wildest dreams and according to the Bible, beyond anything you can imagine!
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…”.
The incredible plans that God has for your life are for now AND your future. It is His desire to stay by your side all of the days of your life and that you would know how good He is and how much He loves you.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So what do you need to do to know God and experience the love, joy, peace and life that He has promised? I’m glad you asked! This is how amazing God is, He has made it so simple! All you need to do is make Him your FRIEND.
WHERE TO START
Becoming a friend of Jesus starts when you ask Him to come into your heart and life. This is the best decision that you could ever make. Why don’t you take some time right now to invite Him into your life by praying a simple prayer in your own words and meaning it with all of your heart. You could pray something like this:
“Dear Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sin and showing me how much You love me. Today I ask you to come into my life and become my best friend. I’m sorry for all of the things that I’ve done wrong. Today I choose to live a better way with You by my side. Come into my heart and make me brand new. I believe in You Jesus. Amen".
WHAT TO DO NEXT
God is amazing! He loves you so much and wants to have a relationship with you- just like a best friend. He wants you to know everything about Him because He already knows everything about you! Here’s some simple ways that you can get to know God more:
- Go to Church or Sunday School
One of the best things you can do to build a relationship with God is to go to church! This is how we learn more about Him. Why not ask your parents to take you to Sunday School this week!
- Read the Bible
God’s words are written in His book called the Bible. The stories in the Bible are like letters that He has written to us to help us understand who He is and how we should live our lives.
It is amazing! There are so many cool stories and adventures about real people who lived a long time ago and you can find out everything that you need to know about God and how He can help you live a great life.
For example, when you are feeling lonely, there are verses in the Bible that remind you that God wants to be your best friend and He is always close by when you need Him:
... but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
When you feel scared, God has put many verses in the Bible to help you feel brave and to remind you that He will never leave you on your own:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
God has made sure that there are special promises in the Bible for every need that you may have. To help you learn more about Him and grow in your relationship with Him, you should read the Bible every day—even if it's just a few verses at the start.
The Bible is also full of adventures! There is a story of a boy who knocked down a giant with a stone; a story about a family who survived a huge flood with a boat full of animals; a story about a man who got swallowed up by a whale and so many more! like this!! You can read the Bible by yourself or ask a grown up to help you. Why don’t you and your family look up one of these crazy stories and read it together today?
Pray
Praying is so amazing. When we pray to God, He listens and He answers our prayers and answers them. When you pray, you are asking God to come and help you because you cannot do something on your own and need His help. There are so many things that you can talk to God about. Here are just a few:
- What’s going on at school
- What happening with your friends
- How you feel about your family
- If you feel sick or have been hurt
- If you need God to help you with something
Today, why don’t you pray and ask God to come and help you just like a best friend would, except that there is NOTHING that is impossible for God to do!
Here’s a prayer to get you started:
“Dear God, thank you so much for all that You do for me. I ask You to please help me with everything I am facing today. Remind me that You are always with me and that You love me so much. I love you, Amen.”
